Electromaps is a leading electric mobility service provider based in Barcelona. Since 2009, we have helped EV drivers worldwide locate both free and paid charging stations. We offer seamless access and payment via our mobile app and RFID key fobs at thousands of locations.
Our Mission: Borderless Charging
Our goal is to unify charging infrastructure and simplify the experience for all EV users.
To ensure accuracy, we aggregate information from three primary sources:
As a collaborative platform, the contributions of individual drivers are vital to keeping our database accurate and up to date.
Solutions for Businesses and Research
Beyond the driver experience, Electromaps offers a comprehensive SaaS solution for private companies and public entities to manage and monetize their charging services. By publishing charging points in real-time on our platform, we provide partners with maximum visibility.
Committed to a sustainable future, we also participate in national and international research programs dedicated to advancing electric mobility and the integration of renewable energy.
Based in Barcelona, Electromaps provides a global map of EV charging infrastructure.
While our information is worldwide, we offer specialized access and payment services throughout the European market. This allows EV drivers to move seamlessly across borders, using our app or RFID key fob to activate chargers and manage payments at thousands of compatible stations across Europe.

Help the EV community grow by adding missing charging stations! You can contribute via our app or website:
Electromaps is a collaborative platform, and your contributions are essential for keeping the world’s leading EV database accurate for everyone.
To help other users by sharing the real-time status of a charging point, you can upload photos or leave reviews:
Your updates help the community stay informed about charger reliability and accessibility.
You can edit information for charging points not connected to Electromaps (indicated by grey icons), as these do not provide real-time status updates.
To update a non-connected charging point:
Note: Information for connected points (colored icons) is managed directly by the operators and cannot be edited manually.
To share a charging point's location and details with others:
Whether you are a public or private entity, Electromaps offers a comprehensive solution for managing one or multiple charging points. By integrating with our platform, you gain full control over your infrastructure, while users enjoy seamless access and activation via the Electromaps app and RFID Key Fob.
Key Benefits:
The color of a charging point icon indicates its connection status and real-time availability.
Connected Points (Real-time Info)
If an icon is colored, it is connected to our network and provides live updates:
Non-Connected Points
Grey: These points do not send real-time data to Electromaps. We show their location and details based on community input, but we cannot verify their current availability.
The number of lightning bolts on a charging point icon represents its charging speed and power output. This helps you quickly identify which stations best suit your vehicle's needs.
We strive to provide the most accurate information possible by combining live technology with community insights. Many stations on our map provide real-time data regarding their current status and availability. For those not yet connected, our community of EV drivers provides vital updates through reviews, photos, and status reports.
To ensure a smooth charging session, we recommend checking the charging point’s information before you arrive. Reading recent user comments, checking access directions, and looking at the photos will give you the best picture of a charger's reliability.
Electromaps is a collaborative platform, so your input is essential. When you visit a station, please take a moment to evaluate your experience. Adding photos, reporting malfunctions, or simply leaving a comment helps the entire community stay informed and benefit from your journey.
To find the perfect station for your vehicle, you can filter stations in the top-left corner of the app. You can customize your search using the following criteria:
If you notice fewer charging points than usual, check the filter button in the top-left corner. If you see a green number next to the icon, it means you have active filters that are hiding certain stations.
To see every available charging point in our database, simply open the filter menu and tap the Reset button, or manually deactivate all active filters. This will clear your specific preferences and display the full, comprehensive map.
When you open the Electromaps app, the map automatically displays charging points in your immediate area.
To use this feature, ensure that you have granted the app location permissions in your mobile device settings and that your GPS is active. If you have moved across the map and want to refocus on your current spot, simply tap the "locate me" icon (the crosshair symbol) to instantly center the view on your position.
By default, our map filters are set to show only compatible stations. You can easily identify these by looking at the charging point's details for the smartphone and RFID key fob icons. If both symbols are present, you can start your session and manage payments directly through the Electromaps app or with your Key Fob.
TIP: in case the connector is busy click "Notify me" to get a notification when the connector becomes available.
If these icons do not appear, the station is not currently part of our activation network. In these cases, check the charging point's information for details on how to access it. This section typically provides the charging operator's name, contact information, and specific instructions for starting a charge.
For stations compatible with Electromaps, you can start a session using either the mobile app or your RFID Key Fob. If you are a new user, complete these initial steps to get started:
Please note that active GPS and location permissions are required to charge with the app. Enabling location services allows the app to quickly identify the charger you are standing next to and start charging.
Activate using the App:
Activate using the RFID Key Fob:
The cost of your session is automatically deducted from your promotional balance (if available) or your default payment method. You can view a complete summary of your session history at any time in the "My Charges" section of the app.
For your first few charging sessions, a pre-authorization hold of 10€ or 20€ is applied before the charge begins. Once the session finishes, you will be charged the final amount, and any remaining funds from the hold will be released back to your account.
Note: It may take a few days for the session summary to appear in your "My Charges" history.
Charging prices are set by the station owner or Charge Point Operator (CPO). Costs can vary depending on several factors, such as energy consumption (per kWh), the duration of the session (per minute), or a flat fee for connecting the cable.
Where to find the price
Always review the pricing details in the app before starting a session to ensure you have the most up-to-date information.
Charging prices are set directly by the station owner or operator. Because of this, the rate you see in Electromaps may differ from the operator's own app—sometimes it may be higher, and occasionally even lower.
At Electromaps, we apply a small surcharge to our service. This fee covers our operational expenses, allowing us to provide a unified experience where you can access and pay thousands of different charging operators through a single, easy-to-use app. This saves you from having to download multiple apps and manage dozens of different accounts.
Your charging session typically ends once the vehicle’s battery is full. However, there are several important factors to consider before leaving your car parked for an extended period:
Think of the Community
We always encourage moving your vehicle as soon as your session is complete. Freeing up the station allows other drivers to charge and helps maintain a reliable network for everyone. Always check the specific pricing terms and conditions in the app before you start your session.
Yes, reporting the status helps the entire community stay informed. To do this, simply select a connector and tap the thumbs up or thumbs down button on the screen.
Your feedback is instantly recorded, letting other users know if a charger is operational or experiencing issues. For more detail, you can also add a comment or upload a photo to provide specific context about the station’s condition.
If you are experiencing an issue with the charging point, it is best to contact the charging point operator. You will usually find a telephone number located on the charging point itself.
If you are experiencing an issue with the Electromaps app or RFID, please contact us via the support section in your app.
The owner or operator of each charging point decides which types of access to provide. At Electromaps, we display the access methods specified by the owners or shared by our community of users.
Fast-charging points (CCS and CHAdeMO) have built-in cables. Semi-fast or slow (Type 2 and Schuko) require you to bring your own cable.
If you want to view your charging history or your current charging session, you can access them through the app via the "My Charges" option in the main menu at the bottom. You will find all the relevant information regarding your sessions there.
The charging power will always depend on the power delivered by the station and the maximum power your vehicle is capable of receiving. To find this information, contact the vehicle manufacturer or refer to your owner's manual.
Don't forget that you can filter your search on the map by connector type and charging power.
You can purchase the RFID Key Fob or card (also known as the Electropass) directly from our online store: https://shop.electromaps.com/
Our shipments usually take 5 to 10 days. For more specific details, refer to the delivery terms on the specific product pages in our online shop.
You will receive an email to track your order once it has been shipped.
Once you have the RFID Key Fob in your possession, you must use the mobile app to enable it using the activation code and instructions provided with the device.
Yes, you can have as many Key Fobs as you want. We recommend that you keep them well-identified with their corresponding activation codes or aliases, in case you need to disable one at any time or simply to know which one you are using.
First, ensure that you have activated your RFID Key Fob in the app. If it is activated correctly, verify that the specific charging point accepts activation via RFID.
Additionally, check that you have a valid payment method (credit or debit card) associated with your user account in the app.
If the problem persists, please open a support ticket through your app for further assistance.
Don't worry; you just need to go to the RFID Key Fob section in your app and select the option to disable the specific key fob you want to block.
If you have a promotional balance, it is not lost, as it is associated with your user account rather than the physical device. If you need a new RFID Key Fob, you can purchase one at our online store.
You can create an Electromaps account through the Electromaps app or web app. You can choose to sign up via email and password or via social sign-on.
When registering through email and password, you will receive a validation code in your email. This code expires within 5 minutes, so make sure to finish your account registration straight away.
With Electromaps, you can activate and pay at thousands of free and paid charging points across Europe. To use these charging points—even those that are free—you must first add a bank card in the "Payment methods" section within the "Account" menu.
We currently accept the following credit cards: Visa, Mastercard, and AMEX.
For your security, please note that we never store your card details directly on our servers.
You can accumulate promotional balance and use it to pay for your charging sessions. Once you have a positive balance available, it will be automatically applied to your next session. If the balance reaches zero, any remaining amount for the charge will be billed to the bank card added in your payment method section.
You can access and pay with Electromaps at thousands of locations across Europe. Just make sure that the charging point can be activated through the Electromaps app or RFID key fob.
If you have a pending payment, you will not be able to activate your next charging session.
If for any reason a payment fails during an ongoing charging session, the system allows you to finish the charge normally. However, you will need to resolve the outstanding balance before you can start a new charge.
If you have a pending payment, you can view it in the "My Charges" section. By accessing the details of that specific charge, you will find options to resolve the non-payment.
If you want to receive invoices with your personal or company information, you must fill in your billing data first.
To add your billing information, go to "Account" > "Billing data & Invoices" > "Billing data".
In the Electromaps app, you can download monthly invoices for the paid charging sessions made with your vehicle. You can find them under "Account" > "Billing" > "Bills".
Yes, you can use your user account simultaneously on different devices.
However, please note that you cannot activate different charging sessions at the same time using the app. In contrast, with the RFID Key Fob, you can activate as many simultaneous charging sessions as there are key fobs associated with your user account.
On the app login screen, you have the option to recover your password (located below the "Password" field).
If you use this option, an email containing a code will be sent to you. Enter this code in the app to create a new password. You are now inside the application!
Note that if you want to change your password while you are logged in, you can do so from Account > Account details.
To delete your Electromaps account and your personal data, go to "Account" > "Account details" > "Delete Account".
Important!
Yes, on each charging point screen, you have the option to add that point to your favorites by clicking the heart symbol.
To see all your saved locations, go to "My Locations" in the main menu at the bottom.
Unfortunately, it is not yet possible to reserve charging points. 😢
Yes, absolutely! You can plan your routes across Spain directly in the app. This feature is currently only available for Spain, but we are working on expanding it to more countries soon.
